Scala 40

Play the Italian-style rummy card game by forming valid runs and groups, opening your hand and discarding before your opponents.

Scala 40 is a digital version of the Italian rummy game. The aim is to organize your cards into valid sequences of the same suit or groups of equal rank and be the first player to empty your hand.

How to play Scala 40

Draw a card at the start of your turn, arrange compatible cards into combinations and discard one card to finish the turn. Your initial meld must satisfy the game’s opening requirement before you can add cards to combinations already on the table.

Tips

  • Sort your hand by both suit and rank to reveal possible combinations.
  • Do not discard a card that obviously completes an opponent’s sequence.
  • Keep flexible cards until they create a meaningful advantage.
  • Plan the discard before committing your melds.
