About Crescent Solitaire

Developer: Agame

Crescent Solitaire is a two-deck solitaire game with a twist on the foundations: Kings are built down and Aces are built up, both by suit. You win when all 104 cards have made it onto the foundations.

The setup removes one King and one Ace of each suit to serve as foundation bases, then deals the other 96 cards face down in 16 piles of six, with the top card of each pile turned up. Only the top card of each pile is available and you move one at a time. Moves can go round the corner, so a King can sit on an Ace and an Ace on a King. Spaces are not refilled. When you are stuck, you may redeal up to three times.

How to play Crescent Solitaire

Because only the top cards are available, every move changes which cards you can reach next.

  • Build the King foundations downward and the Ace foundations upward, by suit.
  • Move a single top card at a time onto a pile in the same suit, either up or down in rank.
  • Turn over each newly exposed card.
  • Redeal when no moves remain; a redeal moves the bottom card of each pile to the top.

Tips for Crescent Solitaire

  • Think about the order of your moves, since you cannot refill empty spaces.
  • Use the round-the-corner connection between Kings and Aces to open a pile when you are stuck.
  • Save redeals for when you have truly run out of options, as you only have three.
  • Look at which suit is closest to completion and feed its foundations first.
  • Check both ends of each pile, since the bottom card is what a redeal brings to the top.
