About Best Classic Freecell Solitaire

Developer: Agame

Best Classic Freecell Solitaire is a version of FreeCell, the solitaire game where the whole deck is dealt face up. There is no hidden information, so wins come from planning rather than luck.

The game uses one 52-card deck dealt into eight columns, four with seven cards and four with six. You get four free cells, each of which can hold one card temporarily, and four foundations built up by suit from Ace to King. Columns build down in alternating colours. FreeCell has an unusual feature: an estimated 99.999% of deals are solvable. Paul Alfille created the first computer version in 1978, and Microsoft later included it in every Windows release since 1995.

How to play Best Classic Freecell Solitaire

Every card is visible from the start, so you can plan several moves ahead.

  • Build columns downwards in alternating colours.
  • Park a single card in a free cell when you need to uncover another.
  • Send cards to the foundations in suit order, starting with each Ace.
  • Clear all the cards to the foundations to win.

Tips for Best Classic Freecell Solitaire

  • Free your Aces and low cards early; they unlock the foundations and free more columns.
  • Do not fill all four free cells at once. They are the working space for long sequences.
  • Empty a column when you can, because an empty column is more flexible than a free cell.
  • Only one card moves at a time, so longer sequences need empty cells or columns to be moved.
  • Study the deal before the first move and plan where each blocking card will go.
