About Mahjong Connect
Developer: Agame
Mahjong Connect is a tile-connection puzzle. Each tile has a matching partner, and you remove a pair by linking them with an unobstructed path made of straight horizontal and vertical segments.
It resembles Shisen-Sho, a Japanese mahjong-tile puzzle in which the connecting path may not bend more than twice, which allows up to three segments. As pairs are cleared, new routes open up. The version on this site is credited to Agame; its tile count and any time limit are shown in the game. Unlike Mahjong solitaire, where only free tiles at the edge of a stack can be taken, a connection puzzle lets you reach into the middle of the board as soon as a clear route exists. That changes the order of play: the position of the gaps matters as much as the pictures on the tiles.
How to play Mahjong Connect
Because paths must be free of tiles, early moves focus on the edges where tiles are easiest to reach.
- Select a tile, then select its matching partner.
- If a path of up to three straight segments connects them, both tiles vanish.
- Continue until all tiles are cleared.
- Use any hint or shuffle options the game provides if you get stuck.
Tips for Mahjong Connect
- Start at the outer edges, where paths are simplest.
- Remove pairs that open corridors through the middle of the board.
- Do not leave a lone tile in a pocket where it has no clear route.
- Check for L-shaped and U-shaped routes before assuming there is no match.
- Keep an eye on the last few tiles, because they need open paths to connect.
