About Butterfly Kyodai
Developer: Agame
Butterfly Kyodai is a pair-matching puzzle. Instead of mahjong tiles, the board is full of butterfly pictures, and you remove two identical ones by connecting them with an unobstructed line path.
The rules resemble Shisen-Sho and Kyodai-style games, where a connecting path is made of horizontal and vertical segments and may not turn more than twice. As you clear pairs the grid empties, opening more routes. The version here is credited to Agame; the in-game screen shows its level and time details. The only matching rule is visual, so the challenge is spatial: working out which route is free. Because every removal changes the gaps on the board, a pair that looked blocked a moment ago can suddenly become available, and the reverse is also true.
How to play Butterfly Kyodai
The usual path restriction is what keeps it a puzzle rather than a simple memory test.
- Click a butterfly, then click its identical partner.
- If a path of up to three segments joins them, both disappear.
- Continue clearing pairs until the board is empty.
- Use any available hint if you cannot see a match.
Tips for Butterfly Kyodai
- Begin on the outer rows where paths are open.
- Pick pairs that open space in the centre of the board.
- Think about which row or column will become a corridor after a match.
- Do not strand the last pair of a design behind others.
- Take your time scanning, because many matches are only visible after a few clears.
